  • Marital settlement agreements

When most people think of family law, they think about the dissolution of the family unit and the legal complications it brings.

We can help parties by mediating postnuptial agreements, prenuptial agreements, child custody, support issues, divorces, and paternity matters. For many people getting married or getting divorced, how their property and debt will be divided can be one of the most controversial issues to deal with.

In a dissolution matter, marital assets and debts will be divided by the judge interpreting the law based on the equitable distribution statute. This is not necessarily a firm 50-50 split, but rather a division that the Court considers fair to the parties subject to the prevailing laws.  Also, as life is always changing, there may come a need to modify an existing court order of support or child custody, and we can help. We will strive for amicable resolutions that will help prioritize the well-being of the parties and their families; particularly when children are involved. We can help come with an agreement that focuses on your future and the stability of your family.
